In an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Madsen discussed the uncertainty surrounding Cressida's fate. In the episodes that aired, Cressida is shown leaving in a carriage, banished to live with her spinster aunt in Wales. However, Madsen revealed that an alternative ending was filmed in which her mother, Lady Cowper, joins her in the carriage. This would have suggested a different future for Cressida
